No one ever taught me how to talk.
I learned how to speak
How to say the words,
form them in my mouth
Pronounce them correctly
but no one ever taught me how to talk
The words get lodged in my throat
I begin choking on my vocabulary
They cling on to the tip of my tongue
Digging their nails in
Because they are scared to leave their sweet refgue
Everytime my words leave my mouth
They are mocked relentlessly
And so I swallow them up again
I lose my words so quickly
That I end up yelling to get them out
so my ferocity won't let them stay
Can someone give me some time for my silence
I need time to coax the words out.
It hurts to be foreceful
Allow me time to be gentle
