You can read a book
or watch an episode of your favorite show
You can go for a walk
or a run
You can write a poem like this one
You can finish an assignment
You can bite at your nails
Or tug on your hair
Or shut your eyes so tight
you start seeing colors
Or think and overthink about everything
you have ever done or said
You can stare at the wall,
Counting every chip you see
in the old paint
You can sit
writing a list
to decide how to kill 19 minutes of time
writing and writing and writing
and writing
and suddenly times up
And you sit there
with a list that's blank
As you beg for more time.
"More time."
There is no such thing.
